Starter plan – went over the 125k function requests because of a bug (now fixed) – one-time reset possible?

Hi Netlify team,

My site crowncloud.vip (team: [Diamond]) is on the free Starter plan and went slightly over the monthly Functions limit: 129,201 / 125,000 requests (run time is fine, 17 / 100 hours).

This was caused by a bug on my side, not by real traffic: a notification check in the frontend was polling a function every 30 seconds, twice per page, and it kept running in background tabs that people left open to play music. There was also a retry loop that could call one function up to 13 times per song play.

I’ve already deployed a fix:

  • the notification check now runs every 2 minutes, only while the tab is visible
  • the retry loop is removed
  • read-only endpoints now use Netlify-CDN-Cache-Control so repeat visits are served from the CDN

This should keep usage far below the limit from now on.

Would it be possible to get a one-time reset or grace for this billing period so the site isn’t paused? It’s a small free community music site and I’d really appreciate it. If that’s not possible, could you let me know what exactly happens on the Starter plan when the Functions limit is exceeded (are only functions disabled, or the whole site paused, and until when)?

Thanks a lot!
