I am a paying Pro plan customer and have never been able to access or use the Visual Editor on my site (aaahandyman.services).
The Visual Editor is listed as a feature associated with the Pro plan. Despite multiple attempts to enable and configure it — including many paid professional ai effort specifically hired to set it up — the feature has remained completely inaccessible. It does not open or function in any usable form.
I am being charged for a feature that has not been delivered. This is a straightforward failure to provide a paid service.
Under U.S. consumer protection law, accepting payment for a listed feature that remains inaccessible to the customer raises serious concerns. Relevant frameworks include:
- The Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. § 45), which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in commerce.
- The Michigan Consumer Protection Act (MCL 445.901 et seq.), which prohibits unfair, unconscionable, or deceptive methods, acts, or practices in the conduct of trade or commerce, including representing that services have characteristics or benefits they do not have.
- Basic principles of contract and failure of consideration — when a customer pays for a specific feature and receives none of the bargained-for performance.
Terms of Service do not override these statutory protections.
I have already submitted a formal demand to Netlify for a credit or refund covering the periods I was charged while the Visual Editor remained unusable. I am prepared to pursue a credit-card dispute for services not rendered and additional remedies if this is not resolved.
I am posting here to document the issue publicly and to ask:
- Has anyone else on the Pro plan experienced the Visual Editor being completely inaccessible?
- Is there any internal path to escalate a clear case of a paid feature that has never functioned so that a credit/refund can be issued?
I am not looking for technical workarounds at this point. The feature has been inaccessible from the start despite professional setup attempts. I simply want the charges for the undelivered feature credited or refunded.
Thank you.
Notes for you before posting:
- You can post this as-is or soften the legal language if you prefer a less formal tone.
- Keep personal billing amounts and account details out of the public post.
- It is still wise to submit the private support ticket / formal demand letter at the same time (or first), because public forum posts sometimes get slower or less formal responses on pure billing issues.
