You must specify a provider when calling netlify.authenticate

I can’t create a new site from git. When I click “bitbucket” i get the following error:

“You must specify a provider when calling netlify.authenticate”

Same issue here. On Bitbucket and gitlab buttons.

Yep same here. I just did a separate post about it before noticing this one.

Is this a bug on the Netlify site? My first time using it.

Try the following:

  1. User settings
  2. Under General go to Connected accounts
  3. Click Edit Settings
  4. Chose a git provider to Connect and follow the steps to connect

Still having the same issue with gitlab, despite having it linked in my connected accounts.

Maybe try removing the connection and connect again?

Just tried, same issue - “You must specify a provider when calling netlify.authenticate”

Also tried connecting via “Connected Accounts” and removing/adding the connection again. Still get "“You must specify a provider when calling netlify.authenticate” when selecting Bitbucket or GitLab from “Create a new site” screen.

Hey there, thanks for your report! We clocked an issue which was preventing customers from linking to repos on GitLab and Bitbucket.

We’ve remediated the problem and updated our Statuspage to reflect the issue. Again, thanks for bringing this to our attention!
