Hi,
I’m hoping a Netlify staff member can help review what happened to my account today.
I’ve had my portfolio hosted on Netlify on the Legacy Free plan and have been able to deploy normally.
Today (Aug 23), one of my production deployments failed because of a build error. Netlify presented an AI option to help diagnose/fix the failed deployment. I followed that prompt and enabled the Free plan because it appeared to be required to use the debugging feature.
I did not intend to migrate my account away from Legacy Free or change the way my portfolio hosting/deployments were billed.
After using the Agent Runner to troubleshoot the build, I discovered that:
-
My account now shows Free plan — effective Aug 23
-
My billing period is now Aug 23–Sep 22 with 300 credits/month
-
Most of those credits were consumed immediately
-
I currently have 29 credits remaining
-
Despite having credits remaining, production deploys are paused
-
I can no longer deploy my portfolio as I could before using the AI troubleshooting feature
I understand the documentation says migration from Legacy pricing to credit-based pricing normally cannot be reversed. However, I’m asking if a Netlify staff member can review this specific situation because the migration occurred as part of following the AI troubleshooting flow for a failed deployment, rather than because I intended to change my hosting plan.
I don’t need Agent Runners, AI Gateway, or any AI functionality. I’m happy to have those features completely disabled.
My main priority is simply restoring my ability to deploy my portfolio without upgrading to a paid plan.
Could a Netlify staff member please advise whether either of the following is possible?
-
Restore my previous Legacy Free account because the migration was unintended; or
-
If that isn’t technically possible, restore/reset the credits consumed by the Agent Runner so I can continue making normal production deployments on the current Free plan.
I’d also appreciate clarification on why production deploys are paused while my account still shows 29 credits available.
I can provide screenshots of the billing page, credit usage and deployment history if needed.
Thank you!
