Unexpected charges for exceeding bandwidth on free plan

Hi,

I started using Netlify less than 10 days ago and launched my site. In the beginning, it was using significantly less than the 100GB bandwidth limit. Then in the last 3 days alone the usage surpassed 300GB and I was billed without any prior notice that I was even close to the limit at $55 per 100GB. I can’t afford these extra charges. Since I’m on the free plan I would have expected to be cut off before I reach the limit or at least be notified that I was approaching the limit, especially since no card was asked for to begin with! Otherwise, I wouldn’t have used Netlify.

The bandwidth usage seems to be rising fast and I’m worried I will be charged again multiple times. I would be happy to switch to the pro plan if it means the additional charges are removed (since I am still under 1TB). Ideally, a custom plan just for even higher bandwidth would be ideal, since I’m not using many other features.

“Add a card to your team now to prevent service interruption.” was written in the billing notice email. What does this mean exactly?

Thanks
