SSL Certificate Not Updating on Netlify — Using Cloudflare DNS

Hi everyone,

I’m having issues with Netlify’s SSL certificate not updating or provisioning properly when my domain is connected through Cloudflare.

Situation:

*Everything seems normal and working on dnschecker.org

  • My domain is iqroopgill.ca and I’m hosting the site on Netlify.
  • DNS is managed through Cloudflare, and DNSChecker confirms the domain is pointing to Netlify correctly.
  • SSL was originally provisioned on July 9 at 10:02 PM, and shows:
    • Created: Jul 9
    • Updated: Jul 9
    • Expires: Oct 7

What I Tried:

  • I turned Cloudflare proxy OFF (gray cloud) for both iqroopgill.ca and www.iqroopgill.ca.
  • I clicked “Renew certificate” from Netlify’s Domain Management settings.
  • I also removed and re-added the domain in Netlify to restart the process.
  • Waited for DNS to fully propagate.
  • The site loads fine with HTTPS, but the certificate “Updated” date never changes, and I’m worried it might not renew properly when it expires.

@Frontend604 Your site loads fine for me, I presume this is now resolved?

The site works perfectly normal, but it’s just the SSL certificate warning I’m getting in the domain management. I just disabled the SSL certificate on Cloudflare because I thought it might be interfering with netlify. Still trying to troubleshoot this issue, not sure why this is happening.

@Frontend604 If you weren’t aware, using Cloudflare proxing isn’t recommended.
So while you can use it, Netlify won’t provide any support regarding it.

See the various quotes/threads linked here:

Everything does seem to be resolving correctly, but you may just want to wait another 48 hours if you’ve been toggling switches. Especially since there’s no immediate risk with your current certificate expiring in three months.

If nothing changes in the next few days, just come back and raise it again.

Sounds good I’ll keep an eye on it.

Thanks,
