SSL out of sync, security risk ahead

Hello,

I’m getting some SSL/https security issues after updating my DNS and re-pointing to Netlify.

I recently migrated and redesigned the site to Next.JS.

From the Netlify app, I’ve tried “renew SSL certificate”, but after 48 hours it hasn’t updated. Still says last updated nearly 1 month ago.

It seems the SSL certificate is out of sync.

I have no custom redirects happening in the repo.

Any help please? There doesn’t seem to be anything else I can do from my side.

Looks good to me when I browse to the site, Tony, and it also looks good to Let’s Encrypt! I’d put this one down to a transient issue whilst re-pointing.

Thanks Scott, is it possible to have Netlify manually renew the certificate? It’s not updating in the domain management section of the netlify app.

The SSL error seems to occur more often on a mobile network in an incognito browser tab

Bump - Is it possible to have Netlify manually renew the certificate? It’s not updating in the domain management section of the netlify app in 72 hours. Everything says it’s fine but i’m now consistently getting SSL ceriticate warning on a mobile network and some incognito browser windows on wifi.

Hi @ttbarnes,

Thanks for reaching out!

I’m not seeing an issue with the certificate. When I visit the site on multiple browsers I’m unable to replicate an issue. I have renewed the certificate on the site. Which can be checked here:

Thank you @Melvin  It seems to have alleviated the issue a little, but i’m still getting this HTTPS/SSL issue.

It seems random - if I test visiting my domain in an incognito window, multiple different browsers (with a fresh cache and history), on wifi or a mobile network, I get “potential security risk” issue.

There must be something i’m missing or an issue with either the DNS or Netlify intergation

Really pleased the SSL cerificate is renewed so it can’t be that.

Any help is very appreciated

I’m not seeing any issue for your site or SSL either. I don’t think this is a Netlify issue.

Thank you all for the help. Seems to have been an issue pointing my domain to Netlify via dnsimple. They just emailed me saying the connection has broken. Triggered a reconnection, waiting for propagation now.

Really strange, i’ve used the same approach many times, with dnsimple and Netlify connection. This domain has been transferrred/moved around a lot compared to the others.

Thanks again, hopefully this does the trick
