Netlify not deleting inappropriate websites

Hello,
First of all, I don’t think this really belongs here, but I’m a bit frustrated that nothing is happening regarding an issue that I have with a netlify hosted site.

So a few weeks ago I opened the site https://xxx.netlify.app/ by accident and was surprised by the racist content (especially the swastika). I wrote back an forth with the support and asked them to shut down the website, but all I got so far is a “we continue to monitor the site for any violations of our terms of service”. I wrote them every few days since more than a month, always the same answer.

In the terms of service it says that:

Content with the sole purpose of causing harm or inciting hate, or content that could be reasonably considered as slanderous or libelous.

Is having a swastika symbol on a website not a violation of that term?

I’m frustrated and disappointed. Did some of you made the similar experiences with the support?

@tobias It’s currently a page with a background image and no content.

While it could certainly be considered offensive by some, I’m not sure if it could be said that the sole purpose is “causing harm or inciting hate”.

It’s definitely not “slanderous or libelous”.

Netlify Support are likely erring on the side of not being too heavy handed with content moderation.

The section of the Terms of Service you’ve quoted appear more interested in situations that may have legal ramifications for them.

I think it’s good that they’re continuing to respond to you, and continuing to monitor the situation, as while it’s not what you want, it’s better than just ignoring your request.
