NETLIFY DNS records not showing up

I’ve added an alias domain to my site. That alias domain is under Netlify DNS control, but the NETLIFY type DNS records are not being created in the alias domain zone. I’ve tried removing the alias and re-adding (as suggested in other posts - Is there a way to add the NETLIFY DNS records back? for example) but that does not create the NETLIFY records. Site ID is 9a94cc47-b40c-4260-bc9e-b73191d943a1

Should I expect those records to appear ‘instantly’, or is there a lag on creation?

I’m assuming the branch subdomains won’t populate in the alias domain’s zone?

Branch subdomains only work for primary domain, not aliases.

Thanks for the follow up - if we make the alias the primary domain, will the branch subdomains be automatically populated into the (formerly alias) new primary domain?

If we wanted to have branch subdomains for both primary and alias domain, could we accomplish that manually in some way (adding CNAMEs in the alias domain did not work - received page not found errors as I’m assuming the CDN isn’t actually configured to serve)

Yes, that’s how it should work

Only by creating a separate site from the same repo and assigning the alias domain to it. There’s another way by setting up proxying and host header rewrites, but it’s rather complicated.
