specifically adding a TXT record with the name “verified-for-netlify” to my domain’s DNS settings, the issue persists.

As shown below, the TXT record does not appear to exist @faizan1

$ host -t txt verified-for-netlify.wizkidconsultants.com
Host verified-for-netlify.wizkidconsultants.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

Once you have created this record a member of Netlify’s support team can release the domain from the old account.
