Domain/DNS issue — festloop.com is locked to a deleted Netlify account
Hi Netlify team,
I’m trying to connect festloop.com to my current Netlify team, but I’m getting this error:
“festloop. com or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team.”
The domain was previously connected to an old Netlify account/team that I no longer have access to. The old site/account has been deleted.
My current Netlify team is:
- Team name: festloop2.0
- Team slug: farthur48
- Team ID: 6a77598d5f6cf1776b3e3e6d
My current Netlify site name is: festloop2.netlify.app FestLoop

I attempted to use the “Release a domain from another account” process. However, the verification step requires me to add this TXT record:
Host: verified-for-netlify
Value: ntl-verify-2301a11a2ddbd79f3ef2b8cbcddadbae0a2e0234
The problem is that I cannot add this TXT record because the DNS is currently managed by the old Netlify DNS zone, which I no longer have access to.
Namecheap also shows that the DNS is not managed through Namecheap BasicDNS and therefore does not allow me to add the TXT record there.
This leaves me unable to complete the verification process because I cannot modify the DNS zone that Netlify is currently holding under the old account.
I control the domain through Namecheap and can provide any additional proof of domain ownership you require.
Could you please provide an alternative ownership verification method or help release the existing Netlify DNS zone/domain association from the deleted account so I can manage from my current Netlify team?
