Account Suspended right when I signed up

I signed up as instructed on my new Scrimba HTML class through the link they provided and I got my account suspended instantly.

The email I used was jlearns2023@gmail.com

Can you please help me? I need to continue my class as soon as possible.

PLEASE help us help you by writing a good post!

  • we need to know your netlify site name. Example: gifted-antelope-58b104.netlify.app
  • DNS issues? Tell us the custom domain, tell us the error message! We can’t help if we don’t know your domain.
  • Build problems? Link or paste the FULL build log & build settings screenshot

The better the post - the faster the answer.

This thread explains that you’re probably wasting your time, and just how widespread these auto-bans are:

This thread explains how uncompromising it is, and some options for you:

I’ll take a look. Are you support here?

Wow seems like they don’t really care???

This is what they told me.

Hello, and thank you for your interest in Netlify services.

Our automated systems have flagged the login activity for your account as suspicious. Please provide us with additional information regarding the websites you intend to deploy on this account. What topics will they cover and who do you intend to read them?

Once we have that information, we will follow up via email. If you do not tell us about the content you intend to deploy here, we will not be able to unlock your account.

This request will be automatically closed after 4 hours of non-response.

Thank you for your cooperation, The Netlify Fraud & Abuse Team

Should I respond with something that’ll bypass the bot or just say again that I’m just trying to learn?

@jlearns2023 I am not Netlify staff, it is a community forum, I’m effectively the “most active” non-Netlify community member.

If you’re producing legitimate content, you should just save yourself time and go with another provider.

I’m not making anything. I’m just trying to learn HTML and CSS through “Scrimba”. Part of the lesson tutorial they wanted me to signup on netflify and I used their signup link.

or not making anything yet i guess. but as the course goes on I suppose they will have me make some stuff. Just trying to get through the course right now as its just wanting me to signup here.

I’ve seen several people that have been banned mentioning they’re following tutorials.

The reality is people generating starter accounts on Netlify would ultimately be a burden for them, if those accounts are unlikely to transition to paid accounts down the track, it doesn’t hurt Netlify too much to reduce their prevalence with these kinds of systematic auto-bans.

Dang well thank you. Anyone reading this in the future just don’t do what I did.

@jlearns2023 It’s also entirely possible Netlify will eventually detect something wrong with it or fine-tune it to be less aggressive.

If you don’t rely on vendor specific features and keep your site nice and portable, you can jump providers at whim.

Thanks, I’ll figure something out in the meantime.
