Unable to Add My Domain – Says "Already Managed by Another Team"

Hi Netlify Support,

I’m trying to add my domain dojicreates.com to my Netlify site, but I keep getting the error:

dojicreates.com or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team.”

I own this domain and have confirmed that it’s not currently in use on any other team (at least as far as I can see). However, the error persists when I try to add it.

I suspect that a DNS zone still exists under another team, but I don’t have access to it anymore. Could you please verify and remove any old DNS zones associated with my domain so I can use it on my current team?

Since the verification is complete, could you please proceed with removing the old DNS zone associated with my domain (dojicreates.com) so I can add it to my current Netlify team??

@dotguydoji Unfortunately you’ve misunderstood.

The verification isn’t complete, and I can’t proceed with any further assistance, as I don’t work for Netlify.

I’m just trying to keep things moving quicker for you by:

  • Linking your disparate threads together so it’s easier to spot the real one
  • Making it obvious that you’ve added a valid TXT record

At this point, you’ve just got to wait for their staff to do the manual verification/removal.

Feel free to upvote this thread, where I suggested it should be automated back in late 2021.

Oh, I see! My apologies for the misunderstanding. Do you know how long it usually takes for Netlify support to take action?

@dotguydoji I can’t give any guidance/estimates as I don’t work for them.

I’d recommend searching for other similar threads and seeing how long it took for others.
