Suspiciously big amount of bandwidth usage daily

Hi, one of my site’s flow.movie (https://flowmovie.netlify.app/) is using a lot of bandwidth. Though the site is not that heavy (around 18mb in files, has vimeo and shopify embeds) and it is not getting much traffic, but its using gigabytes every day…

Will appreciate any help!

hiya :wave:t6: thanks for reaching out! I have escalated your query to our helpdesk. Please stay tuned to your email.

Cheers!

The helpdesk only provided me with a list of assets, that have been using the most bandwidth and have suggested me to go back to the forum for help.

For now I moved the site to Github Pages to avoid using over 100gb of bandwidth on Netlify.

I still cannot figure out why the assets are using so much bandwidth though. For the top three I might have a clue, cause they’re being used/modified or something with my javascript code, but for the rest, like the ones that are in the directory /stills/ I have no clue, cause those are just plain images in my html code. From the data you sent me, it seems like these stills are still using gigabytes… Also no clue how are there references to Wordpress related links in the assets… the site has nothing to do with Wordpress?! Any idea what I could do? The images are already super low size. My entire site is under 20mb…

I understand why they’d do that, but there’s unlikely to be much help available to be honest.

The support staff likely won’t debug your site as doing so would be outside the Scope of Support.

Any community members that may be inclined to try have zero visibility.
E.g. They can only see information that you share.

I definitely can’t answer that when nothing that you’ve shown thus far even mentions WordPress.

If I’m reading the screenshot you’ve provided correctly, the assets have each been requested around 10,000 → 12,000 times?

Does that align with what Netlify’s support said to you?
Does that track with how many visits the site has had?

The site is https://flow.movie ; you can see that there is no mention of Wordpress anywhere. I was as surprised as you are to see this. I do not track analytics for the site, but it should not be getting much hits, since it has not been officially announced anywhere. No clue how come the assets are request so many times…

See what?
Where have you seen mention of WordPress?
Thus far I’ve seen nothing.

Perhaps you should.

The simplest explanation would be 10,000+ views of the page.

Wordpress got mentioned in this screenshot that support provided me with.

Presumably that reference is cropped out of the screenshot that you posted to this thread?
