[Support Guide] What you can do about this error message: "A DNS zone for this domain already exists on NS1"

Hello Netlify Support,

I am trying to set up Netlify DNS for my domain, eastcoastbuyers.ca, but I am receiving the following error:

“A DNS zone for this domain already exists on NS1”

I am unable to locate or remove this domain from any previous services. Could you please help clear the DNS zone on your end so I can proceed with my setup?

Please let me know what specific TXT record I need to add to my domain registrar’s DNS settings to verify my ownership of the domain.

“I have the same issue with multiple domains — canterwoodpress.com, taylorzanebooks.com, taylorzane-author.com, taylor-zane.com, authortaylorzane.com, counterpunch-thebook.com and their www versions. I believe these zones were created by GoDaddy’s website builder product which I have since deleted. Could you please clear the NS1 zones for all of these domains? My site ID is dcbd5f50-cfbb-4b9f-a51f-5e479665c6f2. Thank you.”

We can’t explain to NetLify that the error occurs when we delete a previously existing domain and then redefine it. NS1 is not registered anywhere.
