Stolen Website Hosted on Netlify

Hello -

We recently discovered that someone had copied one of our client’s websites and is hosting it here at Netlify! It is a version of their website from 4 years ago.

I spoke to someone from the Netlify Sales Team on Friday about this and confirmed that it was duplicated by someone with the email (redacted). Can provide upon request. The email is not associated with anyone on our team nor with the Client.

This duplicate on Netlify needs to be removed ASAP becuase it is duplicated, so is the content which is negatively impacting our client’s organic SEO.

The fact that someone can steal a website and migrate it to your platform is deeply concerning and should be addressed.

Please advise. TIA.

The website was made back in 2021. It’s highly likely that it was hosted on Netlify by the previous developer or someone else. Feel free to submit a DMCA request: DMCA Takedown Policy | Netlify

We have been hosting and maintaining the client’s website since 2017, long before this appeared on Netlify. Once discovered (last week), I confirmed with the client that her nor anyone from within her company knows anything about Netlfiy has not worked with anyone else besides our agency.
