I have recently transferred a domain into my name.com account. I now want to setup Netlify DNS for that domain, however after following the guide for deleting the DNS zone (which i’ve done before for other domain with success) I am continuing to get the error in the UI A DNS zone for this domain already exists on NS1.
I had a similar issue when setting up DNS for my content site. The problem is usually a ghost DNS zone still sitting on NS1 from a previous configuration. What worked for me was waiting 24 hours after deleting the zone before trying to recreate it. NS1 sometimes takes time to fully clear the old zone from their system. If waiting does not work, contact Netlify support directly and mention the NS1 ghost zone specifically. They can manually clear it from their end much faster than the automated system.
