New Netlify integration with GitLab for collaborative Deploy Previews

GitLab users, your wait is over!

Now GitLab users can find Netlify’s new reviewer tools and create GitLab issues and file bugs directly from Deploy Previews.

What’s new? :new:

When you open a Deploy Preview, you’ll find the new Netlify Drawer packed with convenient tools to help reviewers from across your organization leave high-quality feedback that’s automatically synced to the merge request.

From within the Netlify Drawer, you can:

  • :pencil2: Take and annotate screenshots
  • :left_speech_bubble: Notify teammates in GitLab or productivity tools
  • :computer: Automatically get browser metadata from reviewers
  • :iphone: Test on mobile devices by scanning a QR code
  • :receipt: Access deploy logs from within Deploy Previews
  • :white_check_mark: Check reviewer activity in the Netlify Platform UI

Connecting to GitLab from Deploy Previews :link:

When you first set up collaborative Deploy Previews, you’ll need to connect your Netlify user account with GitLab so that you can submit feedback authenticated as yourself directly from a Deploy Preview.

If you want to learn more about the new integration with GitLab, you can read more in this blog post.

Or, you can preview changes without the Netlify Drawer.

Wahoo, we were looking forward to this… Even considering switching to github for it!

Unfortunately though, it’s not working. We see the button on left but when opening the drawer we just get a ‘Something went wrong.’ error message…

Any help appreciated!

Looks like the call to https://api.netlify.com/api/v1/cdp/deploys/6109644b24e1830008bd3a08 is returning a 500 error: ‘No Data for Pull Request’.

Hey there, @Jon_Wyatt

Welcome to the Netlify Forums! Thanks for reaching out about this. We would be happy to look into this further with you.

Can you please share the following:

  • Your netlify site
  • What browser are you using?
  • Are you using the Gitlab app?

Hey there, @Jon_Wyatt

We have deployed a fix for this, and it should now be working. Can you please try again? Thank you!
