Netlify DNS stuck for my domain

Hi, i guess the Netlify DNS is stuck on my domain.

On my site: “sats-names” my primary DNS is not connecting.
The secondary DNS is connected, but primary is stuck since the beginning, it says “Awaiting Netlify DNS”. Can you check, it’s been more than 48 hours.

Domain name is: sats-names.xyz

Can you please look into this?

Thanks a lot!

Changed the sitename to “sats-names” to give my users something of a memorable url that works. site id is “179e0f58-fe82-4d21-a65e-795198dd73d7”

Hi @Till I just checked and I’m not seeing anything on your DNS. Can you share your URL?

Hi @SamO!
The URL is sats-names.xyz, the site data you can see above.
What do you expect to see or not see?

@SamO have you had a chance to look again?

Is anybody here, who can help?

Hi, @Till. Yes, we are here to assist and I am sorry for the delay.

The problem was 100% on the Netlify side of this and I’ve corrected the issue now. The SSL certificate for the site is also working.

By the way, there is a way to fix this if without our assistance which is this:

  • remove the production domain from the site
  • delete any A, AAAA, CNAME, or NETLIFY type DNS records for the exact domains being used (which was just sats-names.xyz and www.sats-names.xyz for this site)
  • add the domain back to the site’s production domain settings again

Now, that should be required because this shouldn’t happen again. However, if it does, that above is the way to fix it without waiting for our support team. Essentially, you are deleting and recreating the record. As this are NETLIFY type DNS records, though, the recreating must be done on the site’s settings and not the DNS zone settings.

Please let us know if there are any questions or if you still don’t see the domain working as required.

Hi, I have the same problem on my site cryptoafriquefutur.com

but to unlock it myself I don’t understand the steps you proposed.
My site has been inaccessible for over 48 hours, can you help me please?

@cryptoafriquefutur, your site appears to be working. Do you still need help?

Hello my website’s custom domain is not up and running either. Do you know how long it will take to get the website up and running? The site is codifycamps.org

Hi @codifycamps,

Sorry about the issue. I had to backfill the NETLIFY Records within the Netlify DNS Zone. You should be all set and your domain working again.

Hi there,
the similar issue occur in my site
propee.co.jp
could you check it?

Hi @sinyi889,

Thanks for reaching out! Welcome to Netlify’s Support Forums!

It doesn’t appear you have the Netlify name servers configured. Looking here:

You’ll want to configure the namer servers mentioned here:

You may follow our Support Guide on setting up Netlify DNS here:

@Melvin Is there any way you can look at my site, i think I’m having a similar problem. demoredesign.com

Hi @ptrdmr,

Thanks for reaching out!

I see that you have a Netlify DNS Zone configured here:

However, the Netlify Records have been deleted.

The fastest way to get the records re-created would be to remove the domains from here:

And then re-add them to the site. You’ll want to keep the NETLIFY Records.

Could you let us know if you’re still having issues after re-adding the domains?

Hey @Melvin ,
So it seems to be correct on the desktop site. But it’s very “intermittent” on the mobile side. Sometimes I can get in, other times I can’t. I think I changed the DNS record correctly, but can you confirm for me?

@ptrdmr it looks like you manually created records in your DNS panel, instead of using the automatically created Netlify records. I’ve just recreated those in your account, could you remove the A and CNAME record you created?

@sid.m Thank you, I deleted those records on Friday and the site worked all day Saturday. I’m checking it now and getting a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error.

I checked https://www.whatsmydns.net/ and it’s got 0 propagation currently.

Any idea what is causing it to go back and forth like this?

The domain appears to be working.
