Am trying to map my custom (primary) domain oldschooltrainer.com to jolly-yonath-8ae63c.netlify.app.

Using Namecheap, I’ve tried setting the Cname to jolly-yonath-8ae63c.netlify.app
and still keep getting the “awaiting external DNS” messages in the Netlify admin panel.

Before that I tried to set the DNS in Namecheap control panel to Netlify’s 4 custom nameservers, but also to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas what I could have done wrong?

Have figured this out in case anyone else runs into this.

The CNAME record maps the Netlify domain to your custom domain.

It took me some time to find the ANAME record 104.198.14.52 to add to work with the CNAME record (am guessing this points to Netlify’s load balancer or something,…)
