Hello! Meet Luke, our Staff Support Engineer!
Luke has been an integral part of the Netlify family for the past 6 years, and chances are, if you’ve interacted with our community or help desk, you’ve crossed paths with him. We’re excited to share more about Luke’s background and expertise with all of you. Ready to dive in? Let’s go!
What brought Luke to Netlify?
Luke’s journey to Netlify began with a recommendation from his former manager, Chris McCraw, commonly known as “Fool.” Luke was drawn to Netlify’s philosophy and the opportunity to work alongside many familiar faces. With strong recommendations and a shared vision, he knew Netlify was the perfect fit.
Background and Journey to Netlify
Luke’s path to tech is anything but traditional. After dropping out of college, Luke became largely self-taught, diving into Linux in the 90s. With no formal certifications or degrees, he mastered the art of setting up Linux networks from scratch, guided only by documentation. His dedication and curiosity led him to his first tech job in the early 2000s. Originally from Iowa, Luke realized that to fully immerse himself in the tech industry, he needed to branch out. His non-traditional journey has made him comfortable tackling areas where he initially has no familiarity.
What do you enjoy most about Netlify?
Luke thrives on detective work! He has a passion for solving mysteries, tracking down issues, and finding resolutions. His drive to get to the root cause of errors is matched only by his genuine desire to help people. Whether it’s unblocking users or assisting them in achieving their goals, Luke loves making a difference.
