We’re currently translating our app and found no means to translate the Identity-generated emails.
Perhaps something like a filename based approach where the “path to template” in the config can be a folder and the filename is resolved by user locale (en.html with default/fallback behavior).
The user locale would then be a field in the metadata and could be set/changed via API.
That’s a great idea! However there are absolutely no plans or upcoming changes for anything related to Identity at least for the next 2 to 3 quarters.
I’ll still file a request, but won’t expect anything to change soon.
Is it possible to somehow connect external email providers to the identity service to achieve this?
This is a showstopper for us, we would need to switch away from netlify identity if that’s not possible.
The only thing that you can configure right now is SMTP. But the emails would still be generated by Netlify.
