Please assist me with removing the site I deployed using Bolt.new.
The URL is: https://playful-kashata-92401b.netlify.app/
I deployed the site directly from the builder prior to creating an associated netlify account and can’t find anyway of accessing it or owning it and would like to have it disabled while building further on the IPs.
I’ve seen you help many of your community with this and hope you can do the same for me too..
My associated email used to create and deploy is the same as the one I am using here, being “n05judge@gmail.com”
Please if anything, let me know what I can do.
Thank you team
Kind Regards
Sean
Hi @4rkadian,
This has been automatically escalated to the helpdesk. You should hear back soon.
P.S.: This was an automated message. We use AI to check if someone’s trying to request a domain release in the forums and direct them to the helpdesk. This message want sent because the AI was confident that you were trying request a domain release.
@statusbot Bad bot, this user isn’t seeking a domain release.
They’re trying to remove a site created by Bolt, presumably from Bolt’s account.
@4rkadian I’m not sure where you saw Netlify assist others with this, (feel free to link if you actually did), but I’ve only ever seen them say that you need to contact Bolt’s Support and that Netlify cannot do it on their end, see this thead, (and the linked threads):
https://answers.netlify.com/t/request-to-delete-orphaned-site-thriving-tarsier-ff6ad3-netlify-app/147445/2
You can contact Bolt’s Support here:
https://support.bolt.new/external-resources/overview
Although fair warning, they tend to just fob people off.
@Netlify while I understand it’ll be separate teams and you’ll be attempting to triage/“stem the tide”, it’s absurd to me that you’ve set up an AI bot for this rather than endeavoring to provide self-service for those few actions that customers still cannot perform themselves, refer to this almost 4 year old suggestion:
https://answers.netlify.com/t/fix-another-site-is-already-using-this-domain-self-service/46443
The domain release text was an error on my part. We basically intend to see all threads which can only be solved by Support’s intervention to the helpdesk as they’re doing no good by sitting in the forums. we have a lot more people workin in the helpdesk, so the wait time there is cut to a few hours.
So the AI worked correctly by sending this to the helpdesk, the text was wrong (which was hardcoded during testing and I did not update it). I have now updated it to say the following:
This was an automated message. We use AI to check if someone’s trying to request something that can only be worked on by Netlify-staff. Rest assured, the ticket will be worked on by a human.
As for:
Support has tried putting all the pressure it could on Engineering to solve that, but that’s all we could do. Eventually, if other priorities don’t allow the devs to work on this, sadly Support was forced to find another alternative in the meantime. We could either let people wait for a few days in the forums, or immediately send them to the helpdesk and get them up and running in a few hours.
To clarify, does the combination of these statements mean that Netlify Support can and do remove Bolt generated sites from within Bolt’s account on Netlify on the behalf of Bolt users? All previous statements that I’ve seen indicated it couldn’t be done, so I’ve been advising people as such.
I’d figured as much, hence saying…
We can only hope one day the engineering team is allocated the time to sort it out.
Then there won’t need to be an overly complex rube goldberg machine of customers encountering issues and manually creating forum posts, to have an AI read those posts and create support tickets, to have a human read those tickets and respond by email.
We definitely can, but whether or not we would do it is a different question. If the site exists in Bolt’s account and the user is not able to prove their ownership at all, we won’t do anything for obvious reasons. In some cases, we could reach out to Bolt on the behalf of the users for this case, but those discussions are better suited for private conversations than public eyes.
@hrishikesh Thanks, I’ve interpreted that as “they should lodge a Support Ticket with Netlify”.
If I spot anyone with the “orphaned Bolt project issue” I’ll point them in that direction.
