I created a test site through Bolt AI a few days ago and it deployed automatically to Netlify.
Unfortunately, I deleted the project and now I have no access to the Netlify account that controls this domain.
The site is still publicly available at:
It contains unintended content and is now indexed on search engines, which I urgently need removed.
Please assist in deleting the site or provide steps to help me take it down. Thank you so much.
Hi, @min-1373. Please contact Bolt directly to have them remove the site.
Netlify has no way to verify if you are the creator of the site and if you have authorization to delete it or not. Bolt, in contrast, should have more information about how the site was created and this will allow them to determine if the request to delete the site is valid or not.
I’m writing as a follow-up to my previous request to remove the website at https://starlit-kitsune-d4a196.netlify.app/. As per your suggestion, I contacted Bolt AI for assistance.
However, Bolt AI has informed me that they cannot help with this situation. According to their response:
“Well that’s dumb if your account owner the site and not Bolts then there’s nothing Bolt can do about it.”
They also mentioned: “If I’m not mistaken though unused sites with no traffic get cleaned up and deleted after I think 60 days so it should get removed eventually.”
This creates a problematic situation where:
Netlify directed me to Bolt AI for site removal
Bolt AI states they have no control over the site since I am the account owner, not them
The website contains information that should not remain publicly accessible
I understand your policy about verifying site ownership, but I’m now caught in a loop where neither platform is able to assist me. As the original creator of this content (using my GitHub account min-1373 and email limkyumin1373@gmail.com), I urgently request your help in removing this site.
While I understand inactive sites may be automatically removed after 60 days, I would prefer to have it removed sooner due to the sensitive nature of the content. I can provide any additional verification you might need to confirm my identity as the site creator.
Thank you for reconsidering my request and for your understanding in this matter.
Which system did you delete the project in? Bolt or Netlify?
Why is that?
Did you ever have access to the Netlify account the site was deployed into?
I don’t use Bolt, so this may be completely wrong, but they seem to indicate that:
Bolt can deploy into either a Netlify account that they control, or one that you do.
That you deployed into an account you control.
Is this true, whose account did Bolt automatically deploy the site into?
Obviously if you can re-gain access to the Netlify account, you can delete it yourself.
If it isn’t your Netlify account, then it really is Bolt’s concern.
I had previously deleted the project from Bolt AI and remember having it connected to Netlify as well. However, I can’t recall which account was used, and after checking all possible accounts, I couldn’t find it anywhere.
So, I ended up deleting all projects from both Bolt and Netlify.
Since Bolt doesn’t have a trash or recovery feature, restoring the site is not an option.
Is there any way to take down the website directly from Netlify?
I’ve completely forgotten the email address linked to this account.
I need to recover access to my Netlify account so I can update the site.
I tried creating a new account and using the same domain name, but it says the domain is already in use.
If I could just get the email address or the Netlify username associated with the original account, it would be a huge help.
Please, I really need your help.
I don’t work for Netlify, so I cannot provide any details.
Netlify might provide obfuscated details, or perhaps send an email to the address the account is associated with… or they might not, it’s at their discretion.
You’ll need to wait for Netlify’s staff to respond again, they’ll advise if there is anything they can do.
