ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR Using Netlify Nameserver and SSL

I have hosted several domains on netlify but having an issue with a recent one. I have put all nameservers into the external registrar and seemed to be working fine but on my home wifi the page won’t load and I get this:

This site can’t provide a secure connection

**** sent an invalid response.

ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

On my mobile data plan site loads fine but it is causing security concerns for the wifi provider which is a major one in the UK.

I have the SSL confirmed as active in Netlify settings and Netlify DNS is ticked for both the root domain and www. subdomain. Any idea what might be causing this? I have renewed the certificate and am waiting to see if that does anything.

hi, mind sharing the domain?

Your DNS is not pointing to Netlify. Please fix that.

It isn’t anymore as I wasn’t able to resolve it so trying to use external DNS now

Hi @rsheppard-dev,

Thanks for the follow-up.

You’ll want to ensure you have an A Record for lhplumbing-harrow.co.uk that points to 75.2.60.5.

I do see you have a CNAME Record for www.lhplumbing-harrow.co.uk that is pointing to lh-plumbing-and-heating.netlify.app.
