Domain is blocked

Hello,

I’m trying to add my custom domain scholarithy.com to my current Netlify project, but I get the following error:

scholarithy.com or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team.”

I believe this domain may be locked to a team I deleted at some point, since I don’t currently have access to any other team associated with this domain. I am the rightful owner of scholarithy.com, registered through Google Workspace and currently managed via Squarespace Domains.

My current site: scholarithy.netlify.app

To prove ownership, I’ve added a TXT record to the domain’s DNS with the value verified-for-netlify=scholarithy.netlify.app.

Could you please release this domain so I can add it to my current project?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

The TXT record is a good step since it helps demonstrate domain ownership.

If the domain is still attached to a deleted or inaccessible Netlify team, only Netlify Support can release it. They can verify the TXT record (or other ownership evidence) and remove the old association so you can attach it to your current site.

While you’re waiting, make sure:

  • The TXT record has propagated publicly.

  • You’re logged into the Netlify account that owns scholarithy.netlify.app.

  • No other active Netlify team you have access to is already using scholarithy.com.

Once support verifies ownership, they should be able to free the domain so you can add it to your current project.
