DNS verification failed: site appears to be served by Netlify

I have mapped apex and www domains for downloadtheview.com from Cloudflare to this site and access to the site without https is working fine. Prior to this mapping, the Netlify default domain, prejointheview.netlify.app, had an SSL certificate covering that domain. My understanding is that a new certificate will be created and applied for my newly mapped custom domain once domain validation is completed automatically but that has not been the case so far. I have been getting the error below.

DNS verification failed
www.downloadtheview.com doesn’t appear to be served by Netlify

Please help me resolve this issue. Thank you very much.

how long has it been since you connected the custom domain to your site? it can take some time:

About 2 to 3 hours ago. I tried clearing the dns caches of Google and Cloudflare hoping that this will lessen that time that I will need to wait but I am still waiting.
