createSiteDatabase returns 403 ‘database feature not available for this account’ despite active Pro plan — production down

Title: createSiteDatabase returns 403 ‘database feature not available for this account’ despite active Pro plan — production down

Hi all,

Our database was deleted during routine cleanup of idle branch databases. When trying to recreate it (via build, and via “Create a Database” in the dashboard), we get:

status: 403
message: ‘database feature not available for this account’

This error implies the account is on free tier, but our Team Billing page confirms an active Pro plan (effective July 14, 2026, 20,000 credits granted, plus a separate credit grant from July 13). status.netlify.com currently shows all systems operational, so this isn’t a platform-wide incident — it looks like a stale entitlement/downgrade flag on our specific account that never cleared after a plan change.

I’ve seen a few other threads here with the exact same symptom:

  • “Can’t create a database” — same 403 error right after a plan/tier transition
  • “Database not available despite signing up for a credit-based plan”
  • “Cannot access/use provisioned Netlify Database” — same issue, still broken 9+ hours after upgrading to Pro

This looks like a recurring bug in how billing/plan changes sync with the database provisioning service, not an isolated account issue.

We have a support ticket open (site down 4+ hours now) but haven’t heard back yet. Posting here in case:

  1. A staff member can help expedite
  2. Others hitting the same thing can add their case for visibility

Happy to share site ID / logs if it helps. Thanks.
