Can’t Provision SSL Certificate for Custom Domain (GoDaddy DNS, HTTP Works, HTTPS Fails)

Hi Netlify Support,

I’m having trouble getting SSL/HTTPS to work for my custom domain. Here are the details:

  • Netlify site name: flourishing-kelpie-5d4d95
  • Custom domain: chadbelt.com
  • Registrar: GoDaddy
  • DNS setup:
    • A @ 75.2.60.5
    • A @ 99.83.190.102
    • CNAME www flourishing-kelpie-5d4d95.netlify.app
  • No forwarding or masking enabled
  • No AAAA records
  • No TXT verification requested by Netlify
  • HTTP works: http://chadbelt.com loads my Netlify site
  • HTTPS fails: https://chadbelt.com gives ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
  • Netlify dashboard says:
chadbelt.com doesn’t appear to be served by Netlify. We can’t renew your Let’s Encrypt certificate automatically until the issue is resolved.”

I have tried removing and re-adding the domain in Netlify, and have waited several hours for DNS propagation.
Can you help me “unstick” the SSL provisioning for my domain?

Thank you!

@ChadB You’ve input incorrect DNS records.

Delete the 99.83.190.102 record.

You almost certainly used an “AI”.
Don’t implicitly trust the current generation “AI”, since they hallucinate.

The Netlify documentation never mentions 99.83.190.102.
Asking Netlify’s own LLM (which reads this forum) gives you:
