Authentication Error

Authenticating failed due to the following error: We already have a registered user with this email address. Log in to connect your GitHub account.

I scanned my ID and also have my GitHub linked to netlify.
It is not allowing me to sign in and I need to deploy my portfolio for a course I am taking

What exactly are you doing that’s leading to that error?

When I deploy from Github, I just hit import an existing project,

then github…

select a repo to deploy, and voila.

@DillonSimeone They aren’t trying to link a site repository, they’re trying to login or sign up to Netlify.

@waltscode You’ll need to wait for a Netlify representative.

i try signing in to netlify using my github and get this error
but my github should be linked fine?

Sign into netlify normally, THEN link your github rather than trying to sign in via github.

This is how I’ve always done it:

Hi :wave:t6: It looks like your account was unlocked. If you are still having problems logging in with github the usual solution is the following:

  1. Login to Netlify using the email address and password only.
  1. Once logged into Netlify with the email address and password, then change the GitHub account associated with this email address here: Netlify App
  2. Log out of Netlify.

Once this is done, you should be able to log into Netlify using GitHub or the email address. Both methods of login should work now. If they do not or if there are any other questions, please let us know.
