The SSL certificate issuance for a website I deployed has been stuck on “Currently provisioning your Let’s Encrypt Certificate” for a little over 3 months now. After having an extensive conversation with the Ask Netlify generative AI, I was advised to discuss the problem here.
Here is a summary of the troubleshooting steps I’ve already taken so far:
-
Verified DNS propagation globally using DNSChecker.org — Netlify name servers are confirmed propagated worldwide
-
Checked DNS records — only two correct NETLIFY-type records exist:
-
egodiuchendu.org→egodiuchendu.netlify.app -
www.egodiuchendu.org→egodiuchendu.netlify.app
-
-
Checked for CAA records — none exist that would block Let’s Encrypt from provisioning a certificate
-
Confirmed using Netlify DNS — name servers are managed through Netlify, not Go54
-
Certificate has been stuck on “Currently provisioning your Let’s Encrypt certificate” for several months with no “Renew certificate” option available in the dashboard
-
Site name:
egodiuchendu.netlify.app -
Custom domain:
egodiuchendu.org -
DNS type: Netlify DNS
