Name has a conflicting custom domain in another account

I am trying to add my domain to netlify. the account I am using is I have already changed the nameserver on my registrar to

Hey there, this is happening because the custom domain you’re trying to use already exists on Netlify under a different account.

If you have some idea of who might be using the domain (maybe a previous collaborator or an agency you’ve worked with in the past?), the quickest way to get this resolved is for you to contact that person directly and ask them to remove the domain from their account here:

Netlify App > “Options” dropdown > “Remove domain”

If you’re not sure, please verify domain ownership and let us know by responding here when that’s done. If the verification is successful we can remove the domain from the other account so you can use it on yours.

hey @SamO , I tried adding the domain via the domains tab in netlify dashboard it didn’t work
with the same Name has a conflicting custom domain in another account error.

I tried adding the domain to a site called jiffyso (not attached to my account but the acc with the email and that worked perfectly, it allowed me to add the domain there. I am wondering why it won’t let me setup netlify DNS then if it’s okay to add the domain to a site?

Is this a bug on your end? regardless of what it is, could you guys please look for the account with domain added to it and check if it’s verified? Cause I can assure you, it’s not. It’s owned by me. I can change whatever DNS records required. Please let me ASAP!

hey @SamO , thanks for the reply , but I want to be able to add this domain to the account by the email I am making this post on behalf of my team lead. Can you make it so I can add the domain to that account? Cause I just tried and I wasn’t able to.
