MX (and other new) records not visible outside Netlify

I wanted to move my email for my domain scott.am from Google to iCloud, so I added the iCloud MX records (as well as SPF, TXT, DKIM, and CNAME records) to Netlify where my DNS is hosted. Then I deleted my Google MX records. Unfortunately, the Google records were successfully deleted (no longer visible on the internet) but the iCloud records never started working :(. So emails to me have been getting bounced today and yesterday.

I understand this seems to be an ongoing problem at Netlify (What could cause MX records in Netlify domain to not appear? , MX records not propogating). I’ve tried contacting Netlify support yesterday and today. Is there anything else I can do to get this to work asap?

iCloud says to append periods to the MX record hosts. So I added duplicate MX records with periods appended. No help.

Anybody know any hacks or tricks I can do to get my emails working again?

Hi there, it looks like we may have helped you in the Help Desk as I’m seeing MX records are now propagated. Let us know if you still have any that are not working. Thanks!

Yes, thank you for following up. The MX records (and associated SPF, CNAME, and TXT records) started working last night. My email is finally working again. To be clear, this wasn’t a propagation issue. Netlify’s DNS servers were responding incorrectly directly.

Thanks so much for letting us know this was resolved.
