Hi to everyone,
I bought a new custom domain on Netlify and I configured it to point to an aws ec2 instance trough:
- an ‘A’ record type to my IPv4 aws instance.
- an ‘CNAME’ record type to a subdomain like ‘www’.
Here the live site with relative domain: http://designpalette.xyz/
Everything works fine but I cannot get the SSL certificate for my custom domain.
I’m trying to figured out how to do that but nothing for now. Could someone help to solve that?
Thanks in advance!
Hey @Celebrerr
Netlify can only generate certificates for domains configured to use their service and your domain is configured to an ec2 instance.
Further, as per Section 3 of the https://www.netlify.com/legal/self-serve-subscription-agreement/
Netlify Managed DNS or Netlify functions are strictly for use with sites deployed to Netlify.
If you are using your domain on another service then you are asked to move your DNS elsewhere too.
