Title: Domain purchased through Netlify stuck on “Netlify DNS propagating” for 10 days — nameservers never updated at registrar (ticket #1029235)

Hi all — hoping someone from the Netlify team can help unstick this, because email support has me in a loop.

Summary: I purchased my domain directly through Netlify (invoice PRENLG-00004, May 5). The domain has been showing “Netlify DNS propagating…” in my Domain management dashboard for 10 days. My site has been offline that entire time — visitors get redirected to a parking page.

Why this isn’t a propagation issue: A WHOIS lookup on my domain shows the nameservers at the back-end registrar (Name.com, which Netlify uses for domain purchases) have never been updated:

  • Current nameservers: still the four default name dot com servers (nsXxxx)
  • Should be: the four Netlify DNS servers (dnsX dot p01 dot nsone)
  • WHOIS “Updated On” date: 2026-05-08 (10 days ago, unchanged since)

Real DNS propagation completes in 24–48 hours globally. The reason Netlify’s dashboard has been stuck on “propagating” for 10 days is that there’s nothing to propagate — the nameserver change was never actually pushed to the registrar.

Context from my support thread (#1029235**):** There was an account deletion involved early on — a now-disabled Netlify account originally held this domain. On May 13, a support agent confirmed they re-attached the domain to my current active account. Since then I’ve gotten the standard “wait 48 hours, clear your cache, try incognito” responses. I’ve done all of that multiple times across different devices and networks. The issue is at the registrar layer, not on my end.

What I need: Someone with registrar access to push the nameserver update at the back-end registrar so the domain actually points at Netlify DNS. Since Netlify manages this registration on my behalf, I have no way to make this change myself.

This has been blocking my business for a week and a half. Any help getting this escalated to someone who can take action at the registrar level would be hugely appreciated. Happy to share the domain name, project name, and account email privately to anyone from the Netlify team who picks this up.

Ticket: #1029235

Thanks.
