Domain Purchased from Netlify stuck on "Awaiting External DNS"

I have purchased a domain from Netlify (imankw.com) and set it up with my site as the primary domain. The site is accessible at imankw.netlify.app but the DNS for imankw.com are not updating, it is still showing “Awaiting External DNS” on the dashboard from quite a few days.

I think the DNS records will have to be populated by the Netlify’s support team, if anyone from the team can look into this, that will be great! :wave:t2:

Hi there! If you’re intending to use external DNS, you need to create an A record and CNAME record following these instructions:

If you’re attempting to use Netlify DNS, there are currently no records in your DNS settings. The easiest way to resolve this would be to delete the two custom domains and re-add them.

I have tried this and waited for 24hrs for DNS propagation but the site is still inaccessible.

If someone from the support can check it, it would be great, I am not sure what else I can do from my end.

It looks like you added NS records that were not necessary, and one of the Netlify records is missing. If you remove the domain and re-add it, it will repopulate only the necessary records and you should be good to go!

You’re going to want to follow this link into your admin and select the Options drop-down, and select “remove domain”. Then re-add it as you did before. This will repopulate your records fresh!

Thus, it’s not working. It cannot be renewed from our end any more. Feel free to re-purchase the domain.

Yes, the domain had expired but I re-purchased the domain on 07/07/2023. It was showing as purchased till the last few days, but now it is showing as expired. I am attaching my invoice number for your reference.

Sorry for the delay. Since the domain doesn’t really exist on Netlify anymore (it’s expired and wasn’t renewed), we’ve refunded the amount back to you. You should see it within 1 to 3 business days.

hello @charlottechhum i had the same problem, i have followed the steps the warning has gone but i have tried to reload the site " This site can’t be reached" what should it do
