We purchase through name.com with $2 markup. They often charge much more for renewal than for purchase.
If you’d like to avoid that markup, you are welcome to register anywhere else and use here! We can transfer the domain to your own account at name.com, and you could transfer to a different registrar, where things may be cheaper. This may cause some downtime for your site, so up to you if it’s worth the hassle or not.
