The domain name was previously registered on my Netlify account. I had then deleted the DNS zone for some reason. Now when I try adding it again, I get this issue. My client bought the domain name on route52. (I’m not sure if that’s a domain registrar or a DNS manager.)
Am I supposed contact N1 regarding this? How do I do that? This forum is more approachable so I decided to create a topic here first.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out! I looked internally here and Netlify isn’t holding this zone. Many different registrars and platforms use NS1, like Squarespace for example. You’ll want to investigate where the site has been used before. Reaching out to Route52 would be a good first start! You can let them know you need the DNS zone cleared to be used on Netlify.
The domain name is currently added on Vercel (since it wasn’t getting added on Netlify). Do you think Vercel might also be using NS1? However, I was getting this issue even before it was added on Vercel.
You will need to contact NS1 in order to clear this up. We can’t point the domain until this is resolved.
