DNS Verification Issue for Custom Domain: `fdluxeestates.co.uk`

Subject: DNS Verification Issue for Custom Domain: fdluxeestates.co.uk

Description:

Hello Netlify Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with verifying my custom domain (fdluxeestates.co.uk) in Netlify. It has been over 48 hours since I updated the DNS records as per Netlify’s requirements, but the production domains still show “Awaiting Netlify DNS” in my dashboard.

Current Setup:

  1. DNS Records in Netlify:
  • CNAME: www.fdluxeestates.co.ukvelvety-kangaroo-9a8661.netlify.app
  • NETLIFY: fdluxeestates.co.ukvelvety-kangaroo-9a8661.netlify.app
  • TXT: v=spf1 include:spf.hosts.co.uk ~all
  • No A Records (removed as suggested in documentation).
  1. SSL/TLS Status:
  • SSL/TLS is enabled via Let’s Encrypt.
  • Status shows “Awaiting Netlify DNS.”
  1. Domain Registrar:
  • Domain purchased through Namecheap.
  • The DNS is pointed to Netlify’s nameservers:
    • dns1.p01.nsone.net
    • dns2.p01.nsone.net
    • dns3.p01.nsone.net
    • dns4.p01.nsone.net

Problem:

  • The site intermittently resolves to Namecheap’s default parked domain page rather than my live website.
  • Both www.fdluxeestates.co.uk and fdluxeestates.co.uk show this issue inconsistently.
  • The domain status in the Netlify dashboard remains “Awaiting Netlify DNS,” even after 48+ hours.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Verified DNS propagation using online tools like whatsmydns.net—results show the correct CNAME and NETLIFY records.
  2. Cleared browser cache and tested on multiple devices and networks.
  3. Removed conflicting A records as suggested.
  4. Verified SSL/TLS is enabled for both domains.

Questions:

  1. Could there still be residual DNS propagation delays causing this issue?
  2. Is there any misconfiguration in my current DNS records that might prevent verification?
  3. Are additional steps needed to ensure smooth domain verification and SSL setup?

Additional Information:

  • Site Name: velvety-kangaroo-9a8661
  • Custom Domain: fdluxeestates.co.uk
  • Registrar: Namecheap.

Thank you for your assistance! Please let me know if additional information is required.

The A and CNAME records that you added, need to be added on Namecheap side, not Netlify.

Hi mate, so this would mean that Netlify is not going to be my DNS server right? Also, how should I set my DNS record if I want Netlify to be my DNS server. Thank you.

If you want Netlify to host your DNS, you need to replace your registrar’s nameservers with Netlify’s and then add the domain to your Netlify site settings. You don’t need to add the A + CNAME in that case.

Could you please give me an example of how my DNS records should look in that case? Write it on here for me please.

The instructions are documented here: Delegate your domain to Netlify | Netlify Docs
