Could not provision a Let’s Encrypt certificate for custom domain

I’m getting this vague error message that I see others receive as well. In my use case, it’s a subdomain on external DNS.

When I click the “Verify DNS Configuration” tells me “DNS verification was successful” but when clicking “Provision Certificate,” I get the generic error message again.

It’s be 3 days since the DNS was updated, has a TTL of 5 min, so I’ve been playing the waiting game (which seems to have worked for others) but I am running out of time to get this live.

Can I get help on determining what the error is holding this up? I’ve read other threads but nothing seems to be a fix for me besides waiting and trying again later.

Hi there,

Let’s Encrypt can’t provision a certificate unless the site has been successfully deployed. You’ll want to deploy the site and then attempt to provision a certificate.

Thank you for the response! Good call.

I’ve successfully deployed it, but I’m still seeing the same error message when attempting to provision the cert. Is there anything else I should try?

I see that the SSL certificate has since been provisioned!

Yep, I guess it was the waiting solution at that point.

Thanks again for your help!
