We could not provision a Let’s Encrypt certificate for your custom domain with netlify dns

I’m getting this error message that I see others receive as well.

When I click the “Verify DNS Configuration” tells me “DNS verification was successful” but on refresh it again shows We could not provision a Let’s Encrypt certificate for your custom domain. It’s been more than 24hrs since the DNS was updated. I’m using Netlify DNS.

Can I get help on determining what the error is holding this up? I’ve read other threads but nothing seems to be a fix for me besides waiting and trying again later.
