Hi Netlify Community,

I’m getting the following error when trying to connect my custom domain to my Netlify project:

compassrealtors.co.in or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team.

Project Details:

Root Cause:
The previous Netlify team and project associated with compassrealtors.co.in were deleted without first removing the DNS zone. The zone still exists in Netlify’s system but has no active project or team linked to it — leaving my domain stuck in a ghost zone with default NS records showing.

What I’ve Already Done:

  • Opened support ticket → #1048983
  • Added the DNS ownership verification TXT record in my domain reseller’s DNS panel:
    • Name/Host: verified-for-netlify.compassrealtors.co.in
    • Type: TXT
    • Value: (as provided by Netlify)
  • Provided full proof of domain ownership

What I Need:
A Netlify engineer to manually clear the stale/orphaned DNS zone for compassrealtors.co.in so I can reconnect the domain to my current project (compass-realtors).

Has anyone else encountered this error? Is there anything else I can do to speed up the resolution?

the issue has been resolved! The domain compassrealtors.co.in is now successfully connected to my Netlify project.
