Best practice advice for a parked domain with Netlify regarding SEO

Forgive me if this isn’t the right palce to ask, I’m a beginner and its mainly an SEO question but it involved Netlify.

I purchased a custom domain through Netlify, and it was deployed live on one of my projects as a ‘coming soon’ site. That project I ended up deleting before it was indexed by any search engine. I may however use the domain name sometime later, its still registered in my account. Now because I uploaded a site with that domain name once already, but now it simply returns a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN code as nothing is hosted there, will this incur any SEO penalties if left this way for a month or two? Like I said it doesn’t appear to be indexed already but I read the crawlers can detect parked domains with little to no content. I’m not sure if I should set up a coming soon page with a no index meta tag, or just keep it the way it is for now.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey @jakebal,

If you haven’t submitted your page to crawlers and haven’t posted a link anywhere, there’s nothing to worry about. However, if you have done any of that before, you might have some issues.
