Unable to edit DNS records

Hello,

I have transferred DNS management over to Netlify for domain optimiz.co last night but for some reasons all my dns records are broken - a suffix “.optimiz.co” has been added to all my records which where already fully qualified domains - I don’t even see a way to edit , only a delete button is visible when I expand my records.

Can someone please advise as to how I can correct / update my dns records ?

Thanks
AB

Hi, could you provide any screenshots of what you can see? I haven’t heard of this issue before so it’s hard to diagnose without seeing what you are seeing.

Thanks,

Hi Kyle,

Here is a video recording of the issue for your review - if you have access to my DNS records you should see the same.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Kind regards,

Ah, I see. Is this after manually adding these records?

For CNAME records, Netlify prepends your domain name to the end of the record:

Try deleting the existing records, and re adding them but without specifying ‘.optimize.co’ at the end.

Thanks

Ok , noted.
Is there a way to edit at all ?

No, you need to delete and re-add

Ok no worries. I’ve reverted it back to my previous DNS provider.

There’s no need to do that. DNS records are immutable. This means you cannot edit them.

  1. You’ll need to copy the existing record values into a notepad.
  2. Delete the existing records
  3. Then for each old record, create a new record with the fixed values

Done
