SSL for subdomains not hosted on Netflify but DNS managed by Netlify

Does netlify provides SSL to the subdomains which are only added in DNS and not use netlify hosting?

Suppose I have a domain configured managed by netlify DNS which is example.com

Now example.com is hosted on netflify, auto SSL is provided

But subdomain.example.com DNS is managed by netlify DNS but it is pointed to hosting.host.com in that case the SSL will be provided for the subdomain through netflify ??

Yes. I do this with the demo.wildtechgarden.com subdomain.

Does SSL work if you host site on another hosting service ?

Oh, you mean the site pointed to by Netlify DNS? No, I don’t do that. I’d be surprised if that worked. The base domain can elsewhere, though.

You could also point to one of your subdomain hosts off Netlify but your other host would have to supply the SSL.
