Renaming a git repository

I would like to rename my git repository. On Netlify, the old name is displayed on the settings page, and it builds properly from the Github repository with the new name because Github provides redirection, but it’s a little confusing to have the old name on Netlify. If I try to change the name, it takes me through the process of creating a new Netlify site. I could do that too but I’d rather not lose all the history.

hi there @leftclicktwice, totally get what you are saying. Can you pop a screenshot where you are trying to rename things? i think we can find a way for this to happen without recreating.

Is this what you mean? This is where I go after clicking Edit settings from the Build Settings screen where the old name of the repository is displayed.

Hi, @leftclicktwice. Just click on the “Link to a different repository” link in the screenshot. That allows you to change the repository and doesn’t make a new site.

If this doesn’t work or if there are any questions, please let us know.
