I’ve just unlinked my domain from my site build (jessicachelsea-gatsby) in preparation for a domain transfer, however I can’t seem to delete the associated DNS records.
How do I go about doing that?
@carljohnston.uk Did you try removing the entries in Settings -> Domains -> Custom domains in your Netlify dashboard?
I had done that, yes. I’ve now managed to find the solution.
In my team domains, there is an option at the bottom to delete the DNS Zone.

It sounds like you were trying to delete the NETLIFY and (possibly) NETLIFYv6 type records. If so, we have more information about those records here:
Please read that support guide above for an in-depth explanation of how these records behave with our service. The three key points there are summarized as:
- These records are locked by default and can be unlocked by our support team.
- These records only connect domain names to IP addresses.
- These records do not control which site the domain name is linked to (if any).
If you want to delete some of these records, please let us know the domain name you want unlocked and our support team will be happy to do so.
You can also delete the entire zone but if you only want to delete specific records, that can be done as well.
