Honestly this all new to me and very confusing.
Google has my homepage as https://www.xyz123.com/
When I inspect the link the page open up as xyz123.com
I think this is what they mean by redirect.
How an I fix something like this?

Is that the real link to your site or an example domain? If it’s an example, we would need real link to check.
That is an example link… I am not comfortable sharing the real link. but that I described what happens when I inspect the link that google says has a redirect.
I see that netlify has both links set up in my domain settings. I put the one that has htttps as primary but it still redirects to the .com
Again, there’s nothing I can do/say without a domain/site/account or any other useful information to check. We need to know what we’re investigating in order to say anything about it, as this is not something we can simply guess.
Got it. The home page link that google is having an issue with is <redacted>
Thank you, I’ve edited your message to remove the link. I’ll check and revert.
Okay so, could you further confirm what the exact error message from Google? In case you’ve added your apex domain as the domain in Google, this is expected as you’ve set the www
subdomain as the primary domain.
When first launched the site (a month ago) the main URL on netlify was mysite.com and https://www.mysite.com/ was being redirected to mysite.com
Google sent me an email saying there was a redirect on the page. https://www.mysite.com/ and none of my pages were being index So I made https://www.mysite.com/ my main url with netlify and mysite.com would redirect to https://www.mysite.com/
I also added a xml site map to my site and to google.
I then requested google to index my site again. After about a month google sent me an email today.
"Page indexing issues detected in submitted URLs for https://www.mysite.com/

That’s all it says? It doesn’t really mention the URL it’s redirecting to, so not sure what’s the problem according to Google. From Netlify’s end, everything is working normally as as expected. The other domain will redirect to your primary domain. Maybe you can try contacting Google to ask for a clarification about the expected behaviour here. Based on that, we can help you with the optimal configuration.
