DNS Update - Error: Domain or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team

Hi,

Similar to other users i am having issues with releasing a DNS record from a previous Netlify account and applying it to the current account.

Specifically i had the domains:
ettesydney.com.au & ettesydney.com pointed to ettesydney.netlify.app

this is essentially a dev setup so i need to move it to the live account.

I now need these domains pointed to:
ettesydneylive.netlify.app

and i am seeing the error:
ettesydney.com or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team.

Can this be released please? I will keep trying to update inside the netlify backend.

ive had to put the dns back onto the old netlifysite as the site was down for too long between this swap over , but is there a way that this can be done in the future where i dont see this issue? Thanks.

Hi,

If you’re trying to migrate the domain from one site to another, you need to first remove the domain from the old site in order to add it to the new site. If the domains are being used on two different teams, you’ll need to ensure you fully delete the DNS zone as well before migrating.
