Upload folder or files

Dear Netlify Forum:

We used to drag and drop with no problem before but
now the interface has changed and we are at lost as to
how to upload our website properly.

We apparently uploaded the folder in the Netlify portal
by browsing to the folder and then uploading it. When we
choose to view the site by clicking on the button to
view it, we do see the newly uploaded site.

However, when we browse on the Internet on our
computer, the old page is still showing.

We even tried other browsers, incognito mode etc., and
we still see the old website.

So the website has been uploaded successfully to Netlify but it does
not show live on the Internet itself.

Please help.

Thank you.

@dideNetlify2 Did you deploy the folder as an update to the existing site via it’s Deploys page or as a new site?

The Drag and drop documentation is here:

You could also check to make sure you don’t have a Locked deploy

Thank you for your reply Nathan.

No, I am not sure whether we deployed as an update or a new site.

I just browsed to our upload folder and selected that which Netlify in
turn does display as being uploaded but it does not show live on the
Internet like before.

Hope this information helps.

After logging back in Nathan, it looks like the site was deployed as
a new instance of the site since it is now listed separately from our
old site.

When I click on the old site to activate it, it shows that the last deploy
was back in 2022.

Dear Nathan:

Just tried to redeploy having activated the old website and now it
shows on the Internet like it should.

It does seem that I uploaded the site as a new website instance
since it was listed separately, so I gratefully thank you for opening
up my eyes to what might have happened.

The site is now successfully deployed.

Thank you again Nathan.
